Problem it solves
Sales reps running outbound have their prospects, campaigns, and tasks in Enginy, but their calls live somewhere else. Every call means switching to a separate dialer, finding the contact again, making the call, then coming back to Enginy to log what happened. The context is split across two tools, and the admin work between calls slows everything down.
The Aircall integration brings calling into Enginy, from the task queue or a contact record. Enginy captures call details and available recordings, while you review and save the outcome and notes. Starting from a contact or task keeps that context attached to the call. Saved call information can also sync through a supported CRM integration when the relevant records are linked.
How it works
Your Aircall account provides the phone numbers and call infrastructure; Enginy provides the task queue, contact context, and call logging. Setup has two parts:
Connect your Aircall company to your Enginy workspace. Complete the authorization once for the workspace.
Sign in to the embedded Aircall dialer. Each person who makes calls signs in with their own Aircall user from the connected company.
Prerequisites
You need an active Aircall account. Enginy does not provide phone numbers directly. Calls are placed through your own Aircall account, using numbers you've purchased and configured there.
Before you start, you'll need:
An active Aircall account with at least one phone number configured and available to the users who will call.
Access to Integrations in Enginy, with Aircall enabled for your workspace. If you cannot see Integrations or the Aircall card, contact your workspace administrator or Enginy support. If the switch says Talk to CS team to enable, contact the Enginy team to enable it.
An Aircall administrator to authorize the connection. Aircall requires an admin to complete its authorization flow.
An individual Aircall login for each caller, belonging to the Aircall company connected to Enginy. Use the same email address in Aircall and Enginy so call activity can be matched to the correct user.
Microphone access for the embedded Aircall dialer. Allow the browser's microphone prompt when you start using it.
Don't have an Aircall account yet?
Get in touch with us and we'll connect you with Aircall through our partnership programme. They'll help you set up an account and choose the right numbers for the markets you're calling into. Once that's in place, connecting the integration takes a couple of minutes.
How to activate the integration
Step 1: Connect Aircall from Integrations
Open Integrations from the left navigation in Enginy.
Find Aircall under Communication and turn on its toggle.
In the Connect Aircall window, click Connect. Aircall authorization opens in a new tab.
Sign in as an Aircall administrator for the company you want to connect, and approve the requested access.
Step 2: Associate your Aircall numbers
In Aircall's Select numbers screen, add the numbers your team will use with Enginy and complete the selection. Aircall sends call events only for numbers associated with the integration, so include every number you want to track. You can update this association later in the Aircall Dashboard. See Aircall's number-access guidance.
This step gives the integration access to those numbers. Your available calling numbers and user assignments are managed in Aircall.
Step 3: Confirm the workspace connection
Return to Integrations in Enginy and check that Aircall is connected. The Aircall card now offers Configure, where you can manage the connection.
Enginy configures call-event notifications automatically during authorization; you do not need to enter API keys or create webhooks manually. Each caller still needs to sign in to the embedded dialer before making calls.
Logging in to Aircall
The Aircall workspace runs inside Enginy. Connecting the integration does not sign every team member into the dialer.
Open a contact with a phone number in Contacts, or open a call task. You can also go to Calls → Make a Call, then search for and select a contact with a phone number.
From a contact or task, use its call button to open the calling panel.
If prompted, sign in to Aircall with your own user from the company connected to this Enginy workspace.
Allow microphone access when requested and confirm that a calling number is available in Aircall.
Follow the test-call checklist below before relying on the integration for your daily calls.
Each caller signs in individually. Aircall manages the browser session and may ask you to sign in again.
If Enginy warns that you are signed in to a different Aircall workspace, sign out of the dialer and sign in to the correct company. A mismatched account can prevent recordings, transcripts, and AI summaries from being available.
Test the setup
Place a short test call from an Enginy contact or call task.
For a task call, enter the outcome and notes in the task's Log Call tab, then choose Log Call & Complete Task. For a direct call, select Call outcome, add any Call notes, and click Save in the floating Log call window.
Open the test call on the Calls page and check its details and contact association.
If recording is enabled in Aircall, check that the recording becomes available. Transcripts and AI summaries may take additional time to process.
A connected integration confirms the workspace connection; a test call checks that calling and logging work together.
Troubleshooting and reconnecting
Aircall authorization does not open: allow the new tab or pop-up from Enginy, then retry Connect. Make sure an Aircall administrator completes the authorization.
The dialer is blank or repeatedly requests sign-in: reload Enginy and sign in again. If it persists, contact support with the message shown in the panel.
No calling number or no audio: check the user's number assignment in Aircall and the browser's microphone permission.
Call details or recordings are missing: check that the dialer user belongs to the connected Aircall company, their Aircall and Enginy emails match, and the number is associated with the integration. Recordings require Aircall to supply a recording.
The connection needs renewing: open Integrations → Aircall → Configure, then choose Reconnect in Manage Aircall and complete authorization again.
Known limitations
Phone numbers, user assignments, calling destinations, and call routing are managed through your Aircall account.
Open the dialer and sign in to use Aircall inside Enginy. The embedded dialer supports incoming calls, which follow your Aircall routing and availability settings.
Calling from a contact or task requires a stored phone number. The embedded dialer also accepts manually entered numbers; those calls are not guaranteed to be linked to an Enginy contact automatically.
Recordings depend on Aircall recording availability. Transcripts and AI summaries depend on the available call content and processing; they are not guaranteed immediately after every call.
Outcomes and notes need to be reviewed and saved. CRM synchronization depends on the supported CRM, its configuration, and linked records; connecting Aircall alone does not enable CRM sync.
