Import People and Companies from Attio

You can import People and Companies using filters or from an existing Attio List.

You can import People and Companies using filters or from an existing Attio List.

Before importing

Check that:

  • Attio shows as connected under Integrations.

  • You have selected the right workspace.

  • The Attributes you need are included in the mapping.

  • The source List belongs to People or Companies.

  • You have a destination list in Enginy.

One operation imports a single Object type. A People List does not appear in a Companies import, and a Companies List cannot be used to import contacts.

Importing with filters

  1. Open a Contacts or Companies list in Enginy.

  2. Open the CRM import option and choose Attio.

  3. Select People or Companies.

  4. Add the filters.

  5. Choose Attribute, operator and value.

  6. Run Search to review the preview.

  7. Keep matching with existing records on if you want to avoid duplicates.

  8. Choose the destination list.

  9. Confirm with Import.

You can combine up to five filters. All of them must be met.

Important: The preview shows a sample and the total found. It does not limit the import to the visible rows. Review the total and use specific filters before confirming.

Importing from a List

  1. Choose the option to import from an Attio List.

  2. Select a List of the right type.

  3. Review the number of Records.

  4. Keep matching with existing records on.

  5. Choose the destination list in Enginy.

  6. Click Import.

Enginy walks the Entries and retrieves the associated Person or Company record.

List Attributes belong to the Entry. They do not automatically become general Enginy fields.

Avoiding duplicates

Matching is on by default.

For People, Enginy uses the available identifiers, such as LinkedIn and email. For Companies, it mainly uses the domain.

If the data is empty or stored in different formats, Enginy may not recognize the existing record.

Importing People associated with Companies

When you import Companies you can turn on the option to include their associated contacts.

  1. Turn on Also import associated contacts.

  2. Choose a destination Contacts list.

  3. Decide whether to match with existing contacts.

  4. Confirm the import.

Enginy looks for People whose company Attribute points at the imported Companies. A company name written into another field does not replace that relationship.

Common data

People

  • First and last name.

  • Email.

  • Phone.

  • Job title.

  • Country.

  • LinkedIn.

  • Associated Company.

Companies

  • Name.

  • Domain.

  • Description.

  • Country.

  • LinkedIn.

Compatible custom Attributes can be added through the mapping. When Attio stores several emails or phone numbers, some flows use the first available value.

During the import

Enginy can:

  • Create new contacts or Companies.

  • Link or update existing records.

  • Retrieve the Company associated with a Person.

  • Add the results to the chosen list.

  • Generate a report of the operation.

Large Lists can take a while. Avoid starting the same import again while it is still running.

If a List does not appear

Check that:

  • It is a People List for Contacts, or a Companies List for Companies.

  • It belongs to the connected workspace.

  • It contains Entries.

  • It is still active and available in Attio.

  • The connection can query Lists.

Reopen the modal after checking Attio.

If data is missing

The most common causes are:

  • The Attribute is empty.

  • It is not included in the mapping.

  • It belongs to the Entry and not to the Record.

  • Its type is not compatible.

  • Attio stores several values and Enginy used a different primary value.

Review the report and test with a known Record before repeating a large import.
