How to create AI-assisted outbound copy — AI Messages

The AI Messages section is divided into three groups or tabs:

  1. AI Messages

  2. AI Snippets

  3. Message Templates

Important: If you previously used AI Variables: your existing variables have been automatically reorganized into one of these three types based on how they were configured. Nothing was deleted. AI Variables that generated full messages are now AI Messages; those that generated short fragments are now AI Snippets. Message Templates are new — they don't replace any previous variable type, they're a new way to create static, reusable copy.

AI Messages

An AI Message is a message added inside a campaign node (within the sequence or flow). There are Email Message and LinkedIn Message node types that can work in two ways:

  1. Manual message: It is deterministic and always the same. It works like a template; every time a lead passes through it, the same template is sent.

  2. AI variable: AI generates a personalized message for each contact based on their characteristics, using the goal or instruction you've defined.

In short, AI Messages consist of this artificial intelligence that generates personalized messages inside the message nodes of a campaign sequence.

AI Snippets

An AI Snippet is, ultimately, an AI Message, except that it is just a small part. In other words, it is a brief, short message (a snippet). For example, it can be an icebreaker, a sign-off, a greeting, or a comment.

They are short texts, usually one or two sentences or a very brief paragraph.

Difference from an AI Message: an AI Message can be a complete email or an entire LinkedIn message, whereas an AI Snippet is something more concise.

Usefulness and applications

  1. Campaign nodes: They can be used in message campaign nodes when you only want to send a greeting or a brief message.

  2. Bundle format on LinkedIn: An excellent way to fit in AI Snippets is to use them in LinkedIn messages with a bundle format.

The bundle format consists of splitting a single LinkedIn message into several pieces to simulate real human behavior when chatting. Normally, in a chat we write short sentences and send them rather than composing a single long paragraph.

To simulate this behavior, you can rely on AI Snippets. This way, the first message of the bundle could be an AI Snippet that works as a greeting; it will be AI-generated and personalized for the lead, but it will simply be a greeting and not the complete message.

Message Templates

A Message Template is like a manual message, but we can add AI Snippets and other Variables along the way.

It is like an in-between: a deterministic message that always follows the same template and the same pattern, except that in certain parts we take advantage of AI to add an AI Snippet or a variable.

Example: we can use {Simplified First Name}, so that instead of sending a message that says "Hi, Tim Brandt", it says "Hi, Tim" (which would be the AI variable). Or that says: "Hi, Tim, I saw that you work at {Company Name}".

This way:

  1. We use specific variables for each lead and each case.

  2. We personalize the content much more.

  3. The message is still manual, but with parts that can be AI or simply variables.
